Grok Bot repeatedly fails to respond, even after restarting, updating, and creating a fresh copy

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Grok Bot

Describe the Bug

I’m experiencing what appears to be the same issue others have reported with Grok Bot becoming stuck and failing to respond.

I have already:

  • Restarted my computer.
  • Confirmed Cursor is up to date.
  • Created a fresh copy of the affected Grok Bot.
  • Tested the new copy with a very simple health check that uses no tools, connectors, search, or memory.

The issue persists. The bot repeatedly returns “Bot failed to respond — Something went wrong while generating the reply. Try again.” even in the newly created copy.

Other Grok Bots also appear to be affected, so this does not seem isolated to a single conversation or bot configuration.

Could someone please confirm whether this is a known Grok Bot service issue and advise on any troubleshooting steps or information/logs I can provide to help diagnose it?

Thank you.

Steps to Reproduce

Open any existing Grok Bot in Cursor.
Send a simple message such as: HEALTH CHECK — NO TOOLS, CONNECTORS, SEARCH OR MEMORY. Reply exactly: FORGE_ALIVE
Wait for the response.
The bot fails with: “Bot failed to respond — Something went wrong while generating the reply.”
Restart Cursor/computer and repeat.
Create a fresh copy of the Grok Bot and repeat the same test.
The failure persists across both existing and newly created Grok Bots.
