Installed latest Grok Bot v 28 - starting - blinks some text and then goes black.
Ive installed older versions before - and was able to go through the wizard but always was stuck at the end

Hey @Dima_Semensky, thanks for the report!
Your Grok Bot computer is healthy on our side, so rebuilding the image won’t help. The issue is that the app on your Mac can’t reach it over your network (that’s also why setup got stuck at the end on earlier versions, and why the window now goes black after the splash).

Quickest test: launch Grok Bot on a phone hotspot. If you’re on a VPN or any DNS/firewall/security filtering, turn it off temporarily and retry. If it loads on the hotspot, something on your usual network is blocking the connection and we can dig in from there. Let me know how it goes!

On my phone hotspot - same issue
Turned off Tailscale - same issue
No local firewall or VPN - same issue
rebooted - same issue

Is there a port I need to watch for and possibly open on my router?

Hey @Dima_Semensky, thanks for sticking with this.

We took another look and the actual cause is on the account side. Your Cursor account is set up as an Unpaid Admin, which is an admin role without a paid seat. Grok Bot needs a paid team seat (Standard or Premium), and without one the app cannot connect to a Grok Bot computer. Right now the app shows that as a connection failure instead of telling you what is missing, which is on us and something we are fixing.

To get going:

Go to cursor.com/dashboard and open the Members page for Devcom.
Find your own row and change your role from Unpaid Admin to a paid seat (Admin or Member).
Fully quit Grok Bot (right-click the menu bar icon and choose Quit, or use the osascript command you posted).
Reopen Grok Bot, and press Try again if you land on the setup screen.

It should connect within a minute or two.

@Shivam_Sagar Your case looks different from Dima’s: your account and your Grok Bot computer are both fine on our side, and the app has been connecting and running agents normally again since around 5 PM Pacific yesterday.

For about five hours on Tuesday your Mac could not resolve the address of your Grok Bot computer (a DNS lookup failure on your network), which is why setup kept ending on “Can’t reach your computer”.

If it happens again, two quick things to try:

Switch your Mac’s DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 (System Settings, Network, your connection, Details, DNS), then quit and reopen Grok Bot.
Or test on a different network such as a phone hotspot.

I think we are getting close. I have grok.com account with the same email; I have SuperGrok Plus subscription, invoice: Y7CSWXPN-0001

This account connected to X.com account Ive had for years and same email as account in cursor.
