Grok Bot usage - billing

Grok Bot is for me the best development interface to deal with my application development.

That means I will hardly use Cursor - unless I need to get hands on.

That being said I now have a issue with billing as Grok Bot has its own usage? And below usage is only half a day on Grok bot. :scream:

Yeah, the usage limits for Grok Bot are not that great so far, I think because underneath Grok Bot, its probably using Grok 4.7 High with Fast enabled by default, but I am sure they will and must improve the usage limits asap

Hey @AndrewC, thanks for sharing!

You’re right: on Ultra, Grok Bot has its own weekly allowance, separate from your Cursor usage.

Most of that 43% came from this morning, when your bots created about 60 new bots and a few group chats. Every bot that receives a message runs its own turn, so usage adds up fast.

To make your allowance last longer:

  • Delete bots you don’t need
  • Keep each task in one bot (it can use subagents)

If you want to keep going past the weekly allowance, you can turn on on-demand usage under Spending at cursor.com/dashboard. More details here: Plans and billing | Cursor Docs

Happy to take another look if anything seems off!

Thanks for feedback Kevin, I’m loving that I can setup a full Dev team for each project… Which makes complete sense.

I’ll be disappointed if that structure turns out to be too expensive when it comes to usage.

I have no idea of token usage for grok bot as details are not given…

Are you able to optimise token usage for Grok bot interbot chats … Like run a very cheap model etc.

As grok bot is very much a blank canvas, I’ll have to try instruct them to not talk so much!

So as the workaround I retired the planner, spec, devs and tester bots in each team and told PMs to work directly through Cursor Projects… Which luckily grok bot went ahead and set that up.

Will see how it goes…
