Beyond this bug, it exposes a bigger problem: the Grok Bot cap is too small, even on the top Cursor Ultra plan.

- A normal week of personal use already gets close to the limit. Real work like building client demos, research and background routines blows through it in a few days.
- The only overflow is on-demand credits, which are far too expensive to rely on.
- When the meter is wrong, like today, paying users are simply locked out with no fallback.

Please add a meaningfully higher Grok Bot allowance, or a bigger tier built for serious and professional use. I’d happily pay more for a predictable, larger limit rather than buying expensive credits every week.

I think the issue is that Grok Bot’s usage tracking is even less transparent than Cursor’s. What’s most concerning is that, although the issue appears to have been resolved, the team hasn’t provided any explanation or offered any compensation.

Same here, Cursor plan. My Grok Bot weekly usage went from **36%** (night of Oct 31) to **72%** on the morning of Nov 1, and it’s now at **96%**.

My exported usage CSV doesn’t support this:

- **No events at all** between 22:46 Oct 31 and 04:50 Nov 1 (UTC+2), and only ~$1.50 of usage before the ~04:18 UTC jump.

- Total metered usage for the whole week is ~$143. At my rate from the rest of the week (36% ≈ $123), that’s about **42%** , not 96%.

- Since the morning, the meter has been climbing about **4× faster per dollar** than earlier in the week. So it’s not just a one-time doubling; it’s still over-counting.

I’ve set my on-demand limit to $0 so the wrong meter doesn’t spill into paid usage.

@CursorteamCursorteam please fix the metering and restore the incorrectly counted usage for affected accounts.

Ticket number is T-I95019

Thanks

Nir

They supposedly had some overnight degradation that was resolved around this? [https://status.x.ai/history](https://status.x.ai/history)

Either way, yesterday I was at 61% (maybe 71%) and this morning it’s stuck at 100% and only a few reminders triggered throughout the day yesterday. I know the status page shows resolved but I am still stuck here. Not to mention, my Grok dashboard usage is empty and just shows 1% weekly usage (which also isn’t right).

I think they need to revisit some things here and get it resolved.

I’m having the same issue. I use Grafana to track my usage across all my AI subscriptions, and it looks like Cursor (or GrokBot) has cut the weekly usage allowance in half, from around $260 to $130.
From the dashboard, there are no activity or routing job during the time.

The change happened at approximately 4:10~4:15 AM UTC

(I am on the old cursor pro plan)

I’m experiencing the same issue, but with an even more serious impact.

On November 1, 2026, my Grok Bot weekly usage suddenly jumped from 83% to 100% in a single step, shortly after 5:00 AM Cairo time (UTC+2).

What’s particularly concerning is that Grok Bot itself reported only 83.4% usage for the same account, while the main app showed 100%.

As a result, ALL my Bots stopped responding, and my entire workflow was blocked.

I did not run any unusually heavy tasks that could explain this sudden increase.

I’ve already submitted a support ticket to Cursor (T-I94230), with screenshots showing the conflicting usage percentages and the per-Bot usage breakdown. Support has escalated the ticket to a human agent, but the estimated response time is 3–4 days.

My weekly reset is scheduled for November 3, so the investigation may not be completed before the quota resets.

This is not just a visual bug. It has caused a complete interruption to my work.

Is anyone else experiencing a sudden jump followed by all Bots being blocked?

I hope the Cursor team investigates the usage calculation and restores any incorrectly deducted allowance.

Yes, this is exactly what all of us are experiencing. Usage jumped to 100% over night for no reason at all, after they had their service disruption. I’m blocked as well.

**How to get past Sam and request a human review.**

I’m a Pro+ user affected by the sudden Grok Bot usage increase. My usage jumped from approximately 65% to 100% overnight and my usage export showed no corresponding overnight Grok Bot activity.

Like many, I got responses from Sam suggesting background routines are responsible.

I managed to get my complaint escalated for human review. Here’s how:

1. Explain the unexpected usage increase.

2. Provide your previous usage percentage, when you last used Grok Bot and your weekly reset date (the export CSV for last 30 days on the usage section in cursor, it shows grokbot usage and grokbot automation).

3. Export your usage history and attach it to your support ticket.

4. Tell Sam that you had no usage and it can be compared on the CSV… Explicitly request escalation to a human support representative for an account-level usage investigation.

5. If Sam asks whether you want to continue troubleshooting or wait for a human, explicitly confirm that you want the human escalation.

6. Ask for a review of the usage calculations and whether the November 1 incident affected your allowance.

Sam has now confirmed that my ticket has been passed to a billing teammate for human review, although I’m still awaiting the investigation. I’ve been advised it may take 3-4 days.

**He also says it doesn’t guarantee a refund or restored allowance. But it does get your complaint into the human review queue.**

Everyone affected to ask Cursor whether the weekly allowance or usage calculation for existing Pro+ subscribers has changed.

We need a clear explanation of what happened, not simply to wait for our next weekly reset, that does not fix it.

Has anyone else managed to secure a human review, or had their missing usage restored?

Follow-up with numbers from the in-app usage report (Grok Bot, Cursor Ultra):

- Today (Nov 1) around 08:52 CET I opened the usage view and saw 44%, which changed to 88% in front of my eyes (screenshot [in my post above](https://forum.cursor.com/t/grok-bot-weekly-usage-meter-flips-between-77-and-100-in-real-time/176909/30)). A teammate (bot) read 87.5% at about 08:48 CET.

- Now (Nov 1, ~15:30 CET): 96.8% of the weekly limit used, resets Tue, Nov 3, 11:30 CET.

Grok Bot usage over the last 7 days (Oct 25 – Nov 1 UTC), share of the 7-day total per day:
Oct 25: 8% | Oct 26: 11% | Oct 27: 4% | Oct 28: 1% | Oct 29: \<1% | Oct 30: 23% | Oct 31: 44% | Nov 1: 9%

Today’s real activity is only 9% of the 7-day total, so a jump of about 44 points within seconds this morning can’t come from today’s work. The report only shows daily shares, so I can’t see per-hour or per-event data.

Questions:

1. Was the weekly meter recalculated or its window changed overnight (the DST switch moved my reset one hour earlier)?
2. Can you check whether my account got a one-time adjustment of roughly 44 points?
3. Will usage counted wrongly be corrected?

Same issue here. Legacy SuperGrok Heavy ($300/mo). Weekly Grok Bot usage jumped from 60% to 100% in about 2 hours. It was late at night and I have no overnight routines and no use during that window. At 11:50 pm on 10/31, I stopped using Grok Bot, usage was at 60%, I come back 2 hours later and nothing had been running and I’m at 100% and can’t do anything. Bots now fail with “Reached usage limit.” Ticket open with [hi@cursor.com](mailto:hi@cursor.com) and [support@x.ai](mailto:support@x.ai) (ticket was merged). Business-critical, can’t wait 3-4 days (per the AI assistant reply). @deanrie@Colin can you escalated, please?

Add us to the list. Usage went from 75% to 100%. When I saw the app usage change I immediately asked grok bot to report on the sudden usage and it was confused and said it was still 75.5%. That was our last prompt we sent before it limited us out. We emailed and Sam replied but nothing has changed. There’s a thread on Reddit and some conversations on X with more people reporting this.

I’m on legacy Cursor Ultra. On 1 November 2026, at about 4:22 UTC (8:22 a.m. Dubai), Grok Bot weekly usage showed 53%. About two minutes later the app and the dashboard Spending page both showed 100%. At that same moment, Grok Bot’s own usage check still said 53.7%. My monthly Cursor Models pool is about 5% and Other Models about 12%, so this is only the weekly Grok Bot meter. It is still 100% this evening. Ticket T-I91368. Sam said he cannot reset it, and a human review may take 3–4 days, which is when this weekly meter resets on its own (4 November).

Has anyone here actually had the weekly percentage corrected, not only moved into the human queue? If your meter came back down, please say what you did.

This is amateur-hour handling from the Grok/Cursor team. At the very least, affected users should have received a usage reset or temporary unlimited access while the issue is being resolved.

Some of us rely on these bots for critical business operations around the clock. Disruptions like this have real consequences, and paying customers shouldn’t be left absorbing the impact of a problem outside their control.

I also wonder whether this is actually a capacity issue being presented as a technical “error.” If that’s the case, the team should be transparent about it rather than leaving users guessing.
