Grok Bot: wide markdown tables on iOS should scroll horizontally instead of squishing

Feature request for product/service

– Other –

Describe the request

Current: On Grok Bot iOS, wide markdown tables in chat are forced to fit the phone width. Columns become extremely narrow and text wraps mid-word (branch names, UUID fragments, long “Why” notes), so the table is effectively unreadable.

Proposed: Keep the table’s natural column widths inline in the chat, and allow horizontal swipe/scroll on small screens (phones) instead of squishing the whole table into the viewport.

Who it hurts: Anyone reading multi-column status tables on iOS (repo / PR / branch / agent / notes). Desktop can tolerate width; phones cannot when cells wrap character-by-character.

Related (not the same): Grok Bot: markdown tables cannot line-break inside a cell is about line breaks inside a cell. This ask is about the whole table layout on a narrow viewport (overflow-x / horizontal scroll vs forced shrink).

Hey @jsolly, thanks for the suggestion, and for the screenshot.

This is a known limitation on the mobile app right now: wide tables share the width equally across columns, so anything past three or four columns wraps mid-word. Making wide tables legible on phones is on the team’s list! I’ve added your report where we’re tracking this.
