### Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Grok Bot

### Describe the Bug

On Sept. 23, I created and trained 12 Grok Bots as a publishing company. I let the bots train that night after finishing setup.

The whole time, weekly usage showed 0% used. I thought the Grok Bot Galaxy / promotional allowance was unlimited for a period of time.

The next morning I could not talk to them. The app said I needed a membership. I did not know the meter can sit at 0% while work is still using the grant.

I signed into another account in the same app, and when I switched back, all 12 publishing company bots were gone. Recover Grok Bot’s Computer failed: “The recovery couldn’t finish… Your Bots, files, and logins are safe.” I logged out and back in, thinking it was a bug, and hit a paywall. I can open the account again now, but the company bots are still missing.

When usage or a plan runs out, Bots are supposed to go silent, not disappear. Imagine if I spend months building a company on these Bots and they can vanish after one night of training plus a logout. This makes it unreliable and doesn’t make sense to me.

I emailed cursor support to please check whether the missing Bots still exist or were deleted and explain why this login lost Grok Bot access while the usage showed 0% the whole time.
Sam said bots are stored separately from the computer, a used-up trial should not delete them, and a teammate would look (25 Sep). I did the checks he had recommended (listed below), but nothing worked. No further reply in 5 days.

Settings → General shows this same account on this device.
I fully quit Grok Bot and reopened.
There is no Hidden Bots / Show hidden chats row at the bottom of the sidebar.
After that I still only see dr eggbot and Chief of Staff. The publishing bots from 23 September are still missing.

For cursor system bot: This is not billing. I am not asking about a plan, a refund, or a subscription, please keep this thread as a Bug Report so the Grok Bot team can see it.

### Steps to Reproduce

Open Grok Bot on an account that has the Grok Bot Galaxy promotional credit
Create Grok Bots and train them, including an overnight run .
Watch weekly usage. In this case it stayed at 0% used the whole time, even while the bots were working.
Next morning the bots will not accept messages.
Add a second account in the same Grok Bot app, then switch back to the original account. The publishing roster is gone from the sidebar.
Recover Grok Bot’s Computer fails (“bots, files, and logins are safe”).
Log out and back in.
The company bots are still missing.
Confirm Settings account, fully quit and reopen, check Hidden Bots. Still only two bots. Computer unreachable. Conversations will not load.

### Expected Behavior

The Grok Bot Galaxy promotional credit should show real usage while it is being spent, not stay stuck at 0%. When that credit runs out, the bots should stay on the account and only stop answering, with a clear “you need a plan” message.

Adding a second login in the same app should not remove the first account’s roster. After quit and reopen, I should still see the same publishing company as on 23 Sep.

If the grant is gone, I should be able to see the bots and understand that I need to pay to talk to them. They should not vanish. Support should be able to confirm the 23 Sep profiles still exist on this account.

### For AI issues: which model did you use?

Unknown. Grok Bot desktop agents. Conversations will not load so I cannot read a model name from a message.

### Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Mitra, thanks for the report, and sorry for the slow follow-up on your email.

Good news first: your 12 publishing Bots have not been deleted. They are still on your account. They’re hidden right now because the account no longer has active Grok Bot access, so the app can’t load them or reach Grok Bot’s computer. Signing into the second account didn’t remove them. It only cleared the list the app had saved on your device, and the app can’t reload that list without access.

About the usage: the Grok Bot Galaxy credit is a fixed amount of free usage, not unlimited use for a period of time. Twelve Bots training at once used all of it by about 9:50 PM (Toronto time) on Sept 23. That credit is tracked separately from the Weekly Usage bar, which is why the bar stayed at 0% the whole time. I can see how that’s confusing.

To get your Bots back, the account needs Grok Bot access again. You can use Start Trial in the app, a paid plan that includes Grok Bot, or link a SuperGrok subscription. Once that’s active, fully quit and reopen Grok Bot with the same account, and your publishing Bots should show up again. Keep in mind that Bots working on their own overnight, or messaging each other, keep using usage the whole time.

Until then, please don’t use Recover Grok Bot’s Computer or Reset, and don’t recreate the Bots with the same names. If anything is still missing once access is back, reply here and we’ll take a look.

Hi @kevinn, same pattern on my account: my existing Grok Bot bots are not accessible because the account they live on shows no included usage. Support (ticket T-I1122) confirmed my paid X Premium and my bots ended up on two different accounts after the unify flow, and the linking flow loops even though the accounts page shows “Connected”. I’ve been told not to retry linking or change either account while the team reconnects them. Adding my case here in case it helps the count of affected accounts — details and screenshots are in the email thread. Thank you.

Hi Kevin,

Sorry for the late reply, and thank you so much for looking into it and confirming that all 12 bots were still present! You were right.

To recap what happened after this post, we emailed support again, got a reply that they were intact, then waited a while while cursor support kept us updated on progress. Eventually support confirmed the access issue on their side and today they set up a window of temporary credit so we could open the account again. Once we could see the bots, we were able to sort everything out. We could have purchased the subscription for that account and our bots would have worked fine, but our other account already has a subscription, so we created templates and transferred them. They’re all working now.

For anyone else who sees an empty sidebar after a trial or credit ends: Support was able to check and provide a small temporary credit so we could get to them. It took some back and forth, but it was solvable. This way, you can confirm your bots are still there.

Thanks again for the help.

Mitra
