How can I configure Cursor IDE to show more than 5 recent projects on the welcome screen by default?

I’m using Cursor IDE on Windows. On the welcome/home screen, the Recent projects section only shows 5 projects, even though there are more available under “View all”.

I would like to know whether there is any setting, configuration file, command-line option, or UI customization that allows Cursor to show more than 5 recent projects by default on that screen.

Hey, thanks for the request.

Sadly, there’s no setting right now to change how many recent projects show on the welcome screen. It’s a fixed number of 5 projects.

Workarounds:

  • Use the View all button on the welcome screen, it’ll show all 60 projects
  • Go to File > Open Recent to see the full list of recent projects
  • Use Ctrl+R to quickly open the recent projects list

Having the same issue, I’m working on 10+ projects and always need to manually select the folder since it’s showing only 5.

@Arthur_Bright @Franck-Dernoncourt I mean.. usually for me this have done the trick pretty well

Thanks, it’s a bit not obvious, I didn’t notice it at all, makes sense to move it below the list.
