Every time I open Cursor in IDE mode, several previous session tabs automatically show up. I have to close them manually every time. I don’t want these tabs to appear by default on startup. How can I fix this?
What I mean is the historical conversations of the Cursor Agent
Hey @mangekyou! There’s no setting to stop the restore yet, but for the old conversations you don’t want back, deleting them from your agent history stops them reopening on launch (the ones you keep stay safe).
This is an issue we’re tracking. I’ll post any updates here: Cursor re-opens closed chat tabs on each launch.
But I have archived these chats, yet they still all show up when a new window is launched. This is clearly not a reasonable design.
As for the Delete function you mentioned, the delete button is one level deeper than the archive button, requiring one extra step compared to archiving. This is inconvenient when there are a large number of conversations.
My Cursor version is: 3.22.12
