No. Team model access controls are enforced server-side on every Auto routing path, so Auto only picks from models your team allows.

Yes. The checkboxes in Cursor Settings > Models are a personal preference that only controls which models appear in your own model picker. They’re stored locally, and Auto’s routing doesn’t consult them, so Auto can still route to C. Only the admin-level controls constrain what Auto picks.

On Enterprise plans, Cursor Router respects your team’s model access controls. If a model is blocked for your team, the router routes to an allowed model instead. Blocking too many models reduces routing quality and can disable the router. To create cost savings, the router needs a powerful yet cost-efficient model to use when it isn’t calling other frontier models, so enabling Cursor Grok 4.5 is a requirement for the router to work.
So what happens if grok 4.5 is blocked by an enterprise, since I can still use auto mode?
Hi Mark, yes, you can still use Auto Mode, with a catch.
If Cursor Grok 4.5 is blocked, Cursor Router cannot be enabled, so Auto uses the previous Auto routing logic (same as the Cost behavior). The Balance and Intelligence modes require Cursor Grok 4.5 to be allowed.
