How to Disable the "Shift+Skip" Prompt That Constantly Interrupts Terminal Execution?

Hello everyone,

I’m seeking help with an issue that is severely impacting my workflow. During development, the “Shift+Skip” prompt frequently appears in the dialog box.

This prompt completely halts my code execution, and the only way to proceed is by manually going to the Terminal and pressing the “Enter” key. This has become extremely disruptive, as it means I cannot step away from the screen because the process is constantly interrupted and requires manual intervention.

Could someone please advise on how to configure Cursor to disable this “Shift+Skip” prompt? I need the process to run without these constant interruptions.

Thank you for your help.

hi @noel.huang90 which Cursor version are you using?

We have released a beta of Cursor 1.6 which has several terminal related fixes.
In the next days we will be releasing it to everyone to default release channel.

Version:1.5.11 VScode Version:1.99.3

Great, yes that is the last stable version and in the next days you should get the new 1.6 version which fixes the Terminal issue.

“Great, thank you for the confirmation! Looking forward to the update.”

@noel.huang90 which OS do you use?

win11 OS

Alright, it may take one week for Windows related terminal fixes to be ready as team is making changes to that part for further improvements.

MacOS is ready this week.

I’ve noticed GPT5 is lovely in the terminal, but we’re still getting some hanging using sonnet on 1.6.11 (prerelease)

@mwjt42 if you can post some Request IDs with Sonnet issue with Terminal it would help a lot.

“Could you please tell me if the new Windows 11-compatible version has been released?”

Yes we made improvements for the terminal as users report, though it does still affect some users.

Let me please know if your issue persists.

“The issue where the process pauses and requires a manual press of the Enter key to continue has been a persistent source of frustration. It fundamentally undermines the purpose of an automated program. As you mentioned last week, I am very much hoping that the upcoming new version will resolve this bug in the Windows 11 environment.”

“Hi Cursor R&D team, Do you have a timeline for the bug I reported? I’m very much looking forward to a fix, as it’s currently causing me a lot of trouble.”

Hello administrator,

I am writing to ask if there is an updated version of Cursor for Windows 11 and if it can solve my problem. This issue is still troubling me, and I look forward to your reply.

We released Cursor 1.7 but it shouldn’t interrupt agent.

Updated the cursor, the previous “Shift + Skip” issue has been resolved, but now the “Shift + Cancel” problem has emerged. It has been stuck for a long time and remains unresolved.
