# How to link Claude Code with cursor credit

hi

is there a way to link Claude Code with cursor credit. so i can use Claude Code without Anthropic account.

Hey, thanks for the request.

Claude Code (Anthropic’s CLI tool) is a separate product and isn’t tied to a Cursor subscription. It needs its own Anthropic account and works independently.

If you want to use Claude models inside the Cursor IDE, that’s already included in Cursor (Pro/Plus/Ultra). You can also add your own Anthropic API key in Cursor Settings \> Models \> API Keys to use your own Anthropic limits.

If you mean the Claude Code Extension (a Cursor extension), it also requires an Anthropic API key. A Cursor subscription doesn’t cover that.

Can you clarify what exactly you’re trying to do? That’ll help me give a more accurate answer.

If your actual goal is using Claude models inside the Cursor IDE without paying for  
API tokens on top of your subscription, there is a workaround: your existing Claude (or  
ChatGPT) subscription can be connected via OAuth, and requests get proxied to it instead  
of the Anthropic API. I wrote up the full flow here, including why localhost doesn’t work
