How to make "new worktree" a default mode for new chats?

When I start a new chat, Cursor sets “This Mac” as default environment.
Is there a way to set “New worktree” as a default option?

Hey there.

This just became possible! Make sure you’re using Cursor v3.11.6+ and check under Cursor Settings > Agents > Conversation > Default Environment!

It works when I use a “New agent” action button.
However when I use a “+” action on a specific workspace - it doesn’t use this option and defaults to “This Mac”.

Good catch @Ingvar! I can reproduce that and filed a bug.

Same here. I often start sessions using the “+” action, so I’d love for this to be fixed soon!
