I know this post is old, but myself and other members of my team just installed and imported all our settings from our existing VSCode apps, but this item was missed. A number of us were complaining about the toolbar location and I decided to come log a bug here, but found the solution. The question reamains as to why it didn’t pickup our existing setting. ---

This decision to place the bar **horizontally** by default is one of the dumbest UX choices I’ve ever seen. It reeks of a desperate effort to disguise the fact that this is VSCode-based IDE. Absolute nonsense.
