I get the attached image after clicking on an image that I have included for review in my Agent input window. Twice now I have accidentally hit the “x” button in upper right corner thinking it will close this image viewer. Instead it closes my Cursor AI IDE. Have to then restart Cursor AI all over again. Please do not display any system icons in upper right corner. Also add an “x” after “Save” button to close this attached image viewer only.
Hey, thanks for the report. To close the image viewer without touching the system button, press Esc or click anywhere outside the image. The preview will close and Cursor will stay open.
One small thing. Sometimes Esc only works after you click the modal first so it has focus, so clicking outside the image is usually more reliable.
The icons in the very top right are your OS window controls. They minimize, maximize, or close the whole app, so clicking that X closes Cursor entirely. We can’t hide them since they’re controls for the main window.
I’ll pass along the feedback about adding a separate close button in the viewer. Sounds reasonable. Let me know if Esc or clicking outside doesn’t work.
