Feature request for product/service
Cursor IDE
Describe the request
I really like the new Window Agents feature - it’s a great addition. However, when working with multiple projects, it becomes difficult to quickly distinguish between them in the sidebar since they all share a very similar visual style. This forces users to rely on reading text labels every time, which slows down navigation.
It would be extremely helpful to allow customization options such as adding a custom icon, avatar, or visual marker to each project. Even simple visual identifiers (colors, tags, or symbols) would make a big difference.
From a UX perspective, this aligns with how human visual perception works. The brain processes visual cues like shapes, colors, and icons significantly faster than text. This is often referred to as pre-attentive processing, where visual elements are recognized almost instantly without conscious effort. Leveraging this would allow users to identify and switch between projects much more efficiently.
In short, adding visual differentiation would reduce cognitive load, improve scanning speed, and create a smoother overall workflow -especially for users managing many projects at once.
