Included Usage exhausted: Why did Composer 2.5 Fast stop being available for free?

I’d like to clarify a change in behavior I’m seeing with my Teams plan.

My current settings:

  • Teams plan

  • On-Demand Usage: OFF

  • Included Usage: already exhausted

Previously, when I exhausted my Included Usage while using Auto, I would see a dialog asking me to switch to another model. In practice, this meant switching from Auto to Composer 2.5 Fast.

For example, my usage history on August 27 shows:

  • 08:29 — Included / cursor-grok-4.6-high-fast / 420K tokens

  • 08:31 — Included / cursor-grok-4.6-high-fast / 725K tokens

  • 08:37 — Included / auto / 617K tokens

  • 08:42 — Freesvg / composer-2.5-fast / 352K tokens / Free

  • 08:49 — Freesvg / composer-2.5-fast / 245K tokens / Free

So, based on the usage history, after reaching the Included Usage limit, Composer 2.5 Fast was being used under Freesvg and recorded as Free.

More importantly, this continued to work until September 5. Even with my Included Usage exhausted and On-Demand Usage turned OFF, I was able to use Composer 2.5 Fast, and the usage was recorded as Free.

However, as of September 6, Composer 2.5 Fast is no longer available. I now get:

Total usage limit reached
You’ve reached your monthly limit. Set a new on-demand limit to continue.

I would like to understand what changed.

In particular:

  1. What exactly is Freesvg / Free in the usage history?

  2. Is Composer 2.5 Fast supposed to be available as Free after Included Usage is exhausted when On-Demand Usage is OFF?

  3. If so, why did this stop working on September 6?

  4. If this behavior was changed intentionally, was there a recent change to the Teams usage policy or model availability?

  5. If it was not an intentional change, could this be an account-specific issue or a bug?

The main question is:

Why could I use Composer 2.5 Fast after exhausting Included Usage with On-Demand Usage OFF until September 5, but starting September 6 I am getting “Total usage limit reached”?

I’m not asking about my previous On-Demand usage. I’m specifically trying to understand the difference between the behavior I observed through September 5 and the behavior I’m seeing now.

I can provide screenshots of the usage history and the current error message if needed.

Hey @mmochi nothing changed on our side and your account is fine. After included usage runs out with on-demand off, Teams members get a limited amount of extra reduced-speed usage on Auto/Composer 2.5 for the rest of the cycle (that’s the “Free” rows - “svg” is just the info icon). It’s a fixed amount, not unlimited, and yours ran out on Sep 5 - hence “Total usage limit reached” from Sep 6. It’s a courtesy on top of the plan, not something to rely on as ongoing usage.

To keep going now, as team admin you can enable on-demand with a spend limit at cursor.com/dashboard. Otherwise it resets when your billing cycle renews (date’s on that same dashboard). More on limits: Usage limits.

Thanks, Mohit! That clears it up. Really appreciate the clarification!
