When more recently trying to install the `reditorsupport.r-syntax` extension, Cursor reports it is not compatible with the current version (v1.0.0, VSCode v1.96.2). This blocks R language syntax support.

🔄 **Steps to Reproduce:**

1. Launch Cursor (version 1.0.0).
2. Open Extensions.
3. Search for `reditorsupport.r-syntax`.
4. Click **Install**.
5. Observe the incompatibility error.

💻 **System Info:**

- **OS:** Windows 11
- **Cursor Version:** 1.0.0
- **Embedded VSCode Version:** 1.96.2

🚫 **Impact:**

Yes – this prevents me from using Cursor for any R-related work. The `reditorsupport.r-syntax` extension is essential for syntax highlighting and basic support for R scripts.

I have also hit this work-stopping issue and am wondering if the above users or others could suggest a workaround. Maybe we should downgrade.

Same here. My workaround is to disable auto-update and download VSIX for the previous version from [Release v2.8.5 · REditorSupport/vscode-R · GitHub](https://github.com/REditorSupport/vscode-R/releases/tag/v2.8.5) , then Cmd+Shift+P in Cursor and select Extensions: Install from VSIX…
