Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
After updating to the latest version, the “Fork” option has disappeared from the right-click context menu when right-clicking on a chat in the left sidebar. Previously, I could right-click on any chat and select “Fork” to branch off a new conversation from that point. This feature was essential to my workflow, and its removal has significantly disrupted my productivity.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Cursor IDE.
- Navigate to the left sidebar where chat history is listed.
- Right-click on any existing chat.
- Observe that the context menu no longer contains a “Fork” option.
Expected Behavior
Right-clicking on a chat should present a “Fork” option, allowing users to create a branched copy of the conversation.

For AI issues: which model did you use?
N/A — This is a UI/UX regression, not AI-related.
Additional Information
I am certain the “Fork” option existed in previous versions of Cursor.
I have checked the keyboard shortcuts and Command Palette but could not find an alternative way to fork a chat.
If this was an intentional removal, I would appreciate guidance on the recommended alternative workflow.
Does this stop you from using Cursor
No - Cursor works, but with this issue
