iOS app not rendering LateX

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor for iOS

Describe the Bug

When working with math, Cursor will write Latex to communicate the math. This is a preferred approach for the user and is how the user can clearly communicate to the LLM the idea. Even though Cursor writes in latex, it does not render it once the message is completed. Users would prefer to have this rendered.

Steps to Reproduce

Prompt “ explain the formulas that describe for how OLS is the best linear unbiased estimator using latex”(this does not have to be LateX but any way to communicate in math)

Expected Behavior

The latex will appear in the message. Once the message is completely sent, the message should tthen be processed to render the latex.

Additional Information

This is a pain point in my workflow when I want to flesh out an idea before implementing. I, along with other technical people, would greatly appreciate this feature!

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Thanks for flagging this, @Mason_Veilleux! This is also true for agents on https://cursor.com/agents. Only the desktop app currently supports LateX rendering.

It’s on our list to improve, probably with the web portal first.

Thanks Colin for the attention. I love the mobile app and rendering Latex would be icing on the cake.
