Is it possible to limit the cursor tab feature to only work on a per-line basis?

The cursor tapping feature is so good that it sometimes interrupts my thoughts (maybe this is a ploy by Ultron? LOL), so I’m turning it off and on, but I’d rather have it work as a unit.
