Having the same issue and getting the same responses from support. Feels like it is or should be completely illegal to remove services from my account that I am still paying for. Especially at this price point.
Beyond frustrated.

I finally got a reply from what comes across as a human. Same story though. They don’t plan on honoring the offer.

It’s infuriating, the lack of any human response or support whatsoever. Terrible way to treat first time customers. Absolutely awful.
and now they are handing out credits again to everyone while keeping us the paying users waiting and ignoring us… ![]()
It’s so weird that they’re handing out free months, credits, and whatnot left and right, yet they can’t even be bothered to write anything here or apologize? Or compensate us with ANYTHING for something that was their fault. Unbelievable…
My refund from xAI was approved and is currently being processed. I’m still not happy at all with the way this was handled, and I do feel like I’m losing something here. I had planned to stay on SuperGrok Heavy for a long time because this promo was amazing, and I was really looking forward to using Cursor Ultra in combination with SuperGrok Heavy. Now I’d have to pay $300 + $200 to get the same benefits, simply because nobody seems to care about honoring their offers or making things right.
And they don’t even seem to feel sorry about any of this, which makes me not want to spend any money on Cursor at all in the future. I’m already telling all my business contacts not to trust Cursor and advising them against using their services. They’re appalled by Cursor’s unprofessionalism as well.
I really like the product, but I’ve started to absolutely resent the people behind it.
That’s exactly what I am feeling right now. Recent posts on X again promised to have Grok and Cursor plans consolidated soon, but no one knows if that comes close to Grok SuperHeavy with Cursor Ultra included or if we are talking about lower usage. And honestly given how this went I am starting to have trust issues as well ![]()
Correction to my earlier post, plus the actual Cursor billing records.
First, I have to correct myself. In my post above I wrote that I claimed the $0 Ultra on 16 July and used it for a month. That was wrong. I want it corrected before anyone relies on it.
Cursor Billing Support pulled the records for my account (ticket T-F20521) and confirmed the following in writing:
So the corrected sequence, all times UTC on 16 August 2026:
| Time | Event |
|---|---|
| 09:03 | Ultra created via the SuperGrok Heavy link, $0 |
| 12:19 | Ultra ended, reason “cancellation requested”, origin not me and not Cursor |
| 13:21 | xAI issues invoice GSTOR0OD-0003, charging $100 for a SuperGrok Lite annual plan I never selected |
For context on why my account was a fresh one: my main Cursor account was already on Pro+, and the docs state Ultra does not stack on an existing paid plan, so I linked Heavy to a separate free account. That account is the one in the records above.
I claimed the bundle on 16 August, five days before the 21 August cutoff, while it was still publicly advertised. It survived three hours and sixteen minutes.
I have asked Cursor one further question: what source their system logged as the origin of that cancellation request, specifically whether it arrived through the SuperGrok link integration rather than from me. I will post the answer here either way.
Why this might help others in this thread: if your Ultra also vanished on the same day your SuperGrok plan changed, ask Cursor Billing for your account records rather than for reinstatement. They answered the records request when they would not answer the policy question. The timestamps are what actually show where the cancellation came from, and that is the part xAI cannot argue with.
A positive update on my case (T-E89095): after an internal investigation, my Grok Bot access has finally been restored. I’m genuinely grateful to the team for fixing that part.
However, Cursor Ultra is still missing. My $0 Ultra plan was successfully provisioned on August 17 and then recorded as “cancellation requested” approximately half a day later, without my authorization. This happened before I deleted the unintended old Cursor account.
Since Colin confirmed that existing SuperGrok Heavy users who had already claimed Ultra would continue to have access, I respectfully ask Cursor to restore my Ultra entitlement. Because the service interruption resulted from the account-linking and cancellation issues—not an action I authorized—I have also requested one full year of Ultra from the restoration date as fair goodwill compensation.
My annual SuperGrok Heavy subscription remains active. I hope the team can complete the recovery and honor the benefit that was originally issued.
Fulfillment failure, not a new-promo request.
I purchased individual SuperGrok Heavy on 19 Aug 2026 and linked immediately: Grok [email protected] to Cursor [email protected] (username samsepi0l). Official docs then said qualifying customers receive free Cursor Ultra created at $0: Get access with SuperGrok Heavy | Cursor Docs
@deanrie 15 Aug confirmation: Ultra stays active as long as Heavy is active. Colin later: existing SuperGrok Heavy who already claimed Cursor Ultra continue to have access. Linking during the live offer was the claim. Ultra never provisioned. Still on Pro $20/mo.
Tickets T-F39716 (live) and T-F39732 (AI-closed). Every reply is Sam (AI), including after in-thread email. Sam says a teammate would apply the same policy.
Please have Accounts compare this account’s Grok-link timestamp to the internal promo-end timestamp and provision the grandfathered $0 Ultra while Heavy stays active.
@Colin @deanrie
Update: in-thread email on T-F39923 (the xAI-forwarded “Grok Bot Support Request”) is only Sam / Grok Bot’s AI Support Assistant, replies in 2–3 minutes. The latest refused even a billing-records pull: no Grok-link timestamp, no statement of whether Ultra was ever created on this account, and “no separate Ultra-provisioning record path.”
Sungmin_Kim reported Billing Support did pull those records on T-F20521. I have now emailed [email protected] a fresh request titled for Billing, not Grok Bot. Please have Accounts compare this account’s link timestamp (19 Aug 2026 Heavy link, username samsepi0l) to the internal promo-end and either provision the $0 Ultra or release the records.
I gave up, and just refunded my yearly sub. shame they decided to treat us this way and at some point enough is enough and it is better to go where you are treated better and not waste any more time…
I get why you’d stop. I’m still in Cursor every day, so I’m not there yet — I still want to try every last path I have. Same treatment though, and I don’t blame you for walking.
