Just a rant about everyone complaining

This is not T1000

I would concur- but the code its giving and the limitations… IF its 100% everytime, all the time, yes. But this is a open source forked wrapper at best gouging where it can how it can.

Thanks for posting the Dashboard issue, will forward it to Cursor Team.

I agree on good manners and politeness. Yes there are a lot of posts and it does take a while to go through just replies or previously handled bug reports to check for user updates.

I would just like to know - are you serious?

Sure. This has become a kindergarten. We are technical people and are used to solve difficult tasks. But this is nothing less than entertainment for some people. Let’s have a constructive talk.

You guys should have a demo front and center showing that auto is not useless like a lot of people think or claim. I have found in my testing it gets better results faster and cheaper, than forcing cursor to use just Claude. Maybe some clarity on how auto picks models and if it is based purely on supply and demand or if you put some effort into using simpler models for simpler requests and tasks.

Also if I understand it correctly auto may use models on cursor owned or rented hardware which is likely how it is “free”, more clarity on that in the app or website would be interesting.

If their over inflating by 90 percent you are still getting a lot of value for $20 per month.

I believe clarity in breaking down usage, a higher entry point then $20 a month that gives the company more breathing room to actually become profitable and yet give users more leveraging power for requests to their fav ai models while coding would def help calm tensions

if users grab a pro account and end up having to upgrade or pay more within 24 hours of subscribing, there is obviously limitations that need to improved on

Why remove the 20 dollar plan though? 20 dollars for unlimited Auto mode is a great deal, especially as they keep making auto mode better.

I’m not sure about you, but auto-mode again only gave me back broken work that I had to manually go back in to fix myself

Since my Cursor Ultra quota ran out and won’t reset until July 21st, I tried using Trae AI yesterday. It only costs $3 for the first month and $10 per month after that. It’s actually the old Cursor—I really miss this kind of clear, usage-based pricing.

I’ve been paying $200 a month for Ultra, and turns out I could use Trae for 20 months with that! Haha. I’ve already canceled my Cursor subscription and won’t be going back.

The dragon slayer has become the dragon!

Thanks @luke_thomas appreciate the feedback. Will pass it to Cursor Team.

I got your point, but I am more of a ‘Radical Candor’ guy. And radical candor is what Cursor folks radically need at this point in time. As you said, we are technical people. I would extend it with - we all earn our money. We decide where and how to spend it. Cursor is a company who broke the contract and in the style of all political tyrants in history is parroting how it is better for majority and how those complaining are just minority and how they know better what is better for them (followed by a couple of obvious bots). So let’s just set the state clear here. To be constructive both sides need to be constructive. Try to be constructive while other side is ignoring you and tell me about being constructive.

Hi @nightcoder if I may add my observation, candor even if hard is sure good. It can be also communicated properly without going off tangent about stuff that has nothing to do with the issues like “political tyrants in history” or ultimatums.

Your point can still come across as valid if you stay on point, otherwise it becomes a rant, Rants are often what forum users complain about as it moves the focus away from the actual topic.

Please note that there are also humans like me  who read the posts, accumulate issues and help triaging. Throwing us all under the bus for something we personally had nothing do about is only harming the community and not helping your cause of getting things improved.

We have a certain mental capacity and reading rants about political tyranny does not help my focus. If that makes you feel ignored please rethink your approach to communication and getting improvements.

While Cursor Team has acknowledged mistakes and they are working on improvements and being constructive, is it appropriate for you to focus on a negative only picture and to compare them as parroting political tyrants in history plus claiming they are ignoring users.

Radical is not what the world needs, it rather needs cooperation and that’s my personal opinion.
