# Just randomly closes a Window ?!?

### Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

### Describe the Bug

Just randomly closes a Window ?!? how do you come up with so many various bugs???  
I am running linux with 32GB of ram.

Version: 1.5.7  
VSCode Version: 1.99.3  
Commit: 6aa7b3af0d578b9a3aa3ab443571e1a51ebb4e80  
Date: 2025-08-27T22:43:32.248Z  
Electron: 34.5.8  
Chromium: 132.0.6834.210  
Node.js: 20.19.1  
V8: 13.2.152.41-electron.0  
OS: Linux x64 6.8.0-65-generic

### Steps to Reproduce

not sure. I have 2-3 windows open and just noticed that about 5-10 minutes got a quick notice that it was closed and a button to reopen it?!?

### Operating System

Linux

### Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Just randomly closes a Window ?!?

### Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, could you provide more details? What errors are you seeing? Or is it just a crashing window? Also, try opening another project or creating a new one, the issue might be related to a specific project.

It just stared doing it. It’s the latest version. I had 2-3 open projects this message pops up really quickly and closes I think by itself. I will keep an eye on it

ok. it hasn’t done this for some time now.

I am wondering about the chat running processes which also run another process. is the parent losing connection with its child processes or something?

my case is php → runs a php\_script to add watermark on a text → runs docker with –rm (temp) container and it hangs for a long time. the current user can run docker commands and is added to the docker group.

Now it can’t create folders on mac via the terminal
