Let’s Make release notes guideline Info a Single Source of Truth

Hi Cursor team & fellow builders,

I’ve been playing with the new Plan mode and noticed that every time I try to dig deeper I end up on a mini scavenger hunt:

  1. The e-mail content doesn’t quite match the copy in the release-notes.

  2. Inside the release-notes, the “Learn more” link sometimes goes to
    https://docs.cursor.com/agent/planning
    and other times to
    https://cursor.com/blog/plan-mode
depending on where you click. The two pages overlap but neither is exhaustive.

The result: I’m never sure which page is canonical, and I keep re-reading paragraphs to see what I missed.

Suggestion
Pick one URL as the single source of truth for every new feature.

  • Put the final copy there first.

  • Point the e-mail, the in-app tooltip, the release-notes “Learn more”, and the social threads all to that same URL

  • This tiny change would save readers a few minutes per feature and guarantee that marketing, support and engineering are all telling the same story.

Anyone else tripping over this? Would love to hear your work-arounds or other examples.
