Is it possible to assign somebody else’s Agent in linear to a task that someone created?
I want my marketer be able to assign my agent to a task that he created.
Now he asks me to do it… because when he does it, Cursor agent replies Agent doesn’t exist or something like that.
Right now, Cloud Agents in Linear are tied to individual Cursor accounts. When your marketer tries to assign “Cursor” to a task, Linear looks for an agent linked to their Cursor account, not yours.
To make this work, your marketer needs to:
Have their own Cursor account (Pro, Business, or Enterprise)
Link Linear from their own account (this happens the first time they assign Cursor or mention @Cursor)
If you’re on the Enterprise plan, you can use Service Accounts. These are shared, non-personal accounts that let any team member run cloud agents without individual account linking. More info: Service Accounts | Cursor Docs
A few questions:
What Cursor plan are you on?
Does your marketer have their own Cursor subscription?
Are you both in the same Cursor Team workspace?
Let me know, and I’ll suggest the best setup for your case.
We have purchased three times the Pro subscription (3 x $20) + usage based billing ($80 per month).
To be fair, I am happy to pay the amount to Cursor as it is extremely valuable to us.
The only thing is problematic is that one person would only create Issues in Linear and my Agent
sometimes from Desktop, sometimes as Cloud Agent would solve these tickets.
My Agent is trained well and I can refine the issues with extra context. But from time to time, I just want my colleague to delegate himself the task to my Agent.
So overall, we would like to think about the Agent as an employee that can just take on tasks. Sometimes it requires micro-management from me, but most of the time it should just be able to handle tasks once assigned.
If there is a better way to do this please let us know.
Got it, your use case is basically that you want one shared “agent employee” that anyone on the team can delegate tasks to.
Unfortunately, that isn’t possible on the Pro plan. Cloud Agents are always tied to a specific Cursor account. Service Accounts, which are made for exactly this, are only available on the Enterprise plan.

Workaround on your current plan:
Your marketer creates a task in Linear and adds a label or tag (for example cursor-ready). Then you assign Cursor to those tasks yourself. Not perfect, but it removes the need for them to ask you every time. You just need to check tasks with that tag from time to time.
Upgrade to Enterprise:
Service Accounts let you create a shared, non-personal account that any team member can delegate tasks to via Linear. More info: Service Accounts | Cursor Docs
