Make “Recent projects” count configurable (or show all up to 7/8)

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

Hi Cursor team,
I’m using Cursor with a fixed working set of 7 projects that I open daily (monorepo split into multiple repos). On the home screen, “Recent projects” shows only 6, so the 7th project is always pushed into “View all”, which adds friction every single time.

Current behavior:

Home screen shows only 6 items under “Recent projects”

The 7th (and beyond) requires clicking View all

Expected behavior:

Option A: Allow configuring the number of recent projects shown (e.g., 6/7/8/10)

Option B: Automatically show all recent projects up to N, where N is at least 8

Option C: “Pin” projects so the working set stays visible (even if recency changes)

Why this matters:
For users with a stable daily set (like mine), the 6-item cap creates a constant extra click and slows down context switching. This is a small UI change with outsized productivity impact.

If helpful, I can share a screenshot of my home screen showing 7 projects with 1 always hidden.

Thanks!

Would love to see a configurable number like in Option A!
