Making it clearer that Remote Control requires cloud agents

Hi all,

Just a thought / recommendation; it’d be nice to update the Remote Control documentation and in-app UI to make it clearer that Remote Control agents ultimately are creating a cloud agent of some sort (at least, I think they are).

Why? It was very unclear to me that the toggled on (plus visually disabled) Max mode toggle (which says “Max mode is required for cloud agents.” on hover) was due to Remote Control sessions ultimately needing some sort of cloud proxy – I had at first figured it was a bug of some sort.

(It would be nice to be able to avoid max mode for remote control sessions all together, but I’m sure there’s infrastructure reasons for needing this.)

Anyways, thanks!

Hey @kyleve!

Thanks for the feedback. Max Mode is going away soon for users on usage-based pricing, so I think the issue will somewhat resolve itself.

In fact, you can already use Cloud Agents without Max Mode on cursor.com/agents, but the desktop app hasn’t caught up yet. We’re fixing that!

Ah, great – thanks!
