MCP > Tools keep getting dropped and needing to be reloaded

Every so often, MCP tools keep getting dropped and I have to reload them.
E.g. they turn red - when I turn on and off again they work.

I couldnt see much of any use in Output except what I got here.

Hey, thanks for the report.

This is a known MCP server stability issue, and the team is tracking it.

A few questions to narrow it down:

  1. What Cursor version are you on? (Menu > About Cursor > Copy)
  2. How often does this happen, every few minutes or more like once a day?
  3. Do all three servers drop at the same time, or separately one by one?
  4. Is there anything specific that seems to trigger it, like switching projects, being idle, or during agent tasks?

For now, one thing to try if you have not already is to check whether the MCP server processes are still running when the tools turn red. You can look for node processes in Activity Monitor. If they have exited, the server process is probably crashing. If they are still running, it is more likely a connection or reconnect issue on the Cursor side.

Let me know how it goes.
