Hot take: Skills and commands are the same thing. Only commands can be triggered using a /<command> and each skill has its own directory.
Yeah, I know the agent can choose to invoke a skill, but you can configure a skill to not be auto-invokable by the agent, so that’s essentially the same as a command then.
Claude Code already saw this and recently merged the two, so skills are now visible in the / autocomplete menu.
I hope that Cursor at least can do what Claude did, or if possible go one step further: Get rid of commands completely.
