Missing GitHub repositories when setting up a new workspace / project

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to create a new project in Cursor, but the two GitHub repositories I need are missing from the list when selecting a workspace.

Has anyone run into this issue before? Is this likely a permissions/authorization issue with GitHub, or could something else be causing it?

Any tips or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Having the same issue, so annoying.

Hey, thanks for the request. This looks like a Cursor GitHub App access request, not an issue with Cursor itself.

In the list during project creation, Cursor only shows repos that the Cursor GitHub App can access. Right now your connection covers repos in your personal GitHub account. If the two missing repos belong to an org, or to another user where you’re just a collaborator, you need to install the app separately for that owner, even if you can see the repos on GitHub.

How to add them:

  1. Open Sign in to GitHub · GitHub
  2. Pick the org or account that owns the missing repos
  3. Choose All repositories or Only select repositories, then select the two repos you need
  4. Click Install. If you’re not an owner of that org, GitHub will send an access request to the org owners, and access will show up only after someone approves it
  5. Go back to Cursor, fully quit and reopen the app, then open Create Project again

You can check what’s connected here: https://cursor.com/dashboard?tab=integrations. Make sure the GitHub account shown there is the one that has access to those repos.

If the repos still don’t show up after installing the app for the repo owner, share the owner name (org or user) and your Cursor version Help > About and we can dig in.

@rockgabi, the same steps should help you too. If not, send the same details (repo owner, Cursor version) and we’ll look at it separately.
