There is an issue where the model automatically switches to Auto sometimes. I am usually using Opus 4.6 Max.

This often happens after writing a plan.

Hey, thanks for the report. A few users have previously mentioned that the model selection resets to Auto.

  1. Does this happen every time you write a plan, or only sometimes?
  2. Does it still happen after restarting Cursor, or only in the current session?

As a workaround for now, please double-check the model dropdown before sending a message, especially after the planning step finishes.
