Model switcher display wrong

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Since update yesterday the model switcher only shows “Fast” for Cursor Grok 4.5 instead if the model name + effort like it used to and every other model still does. Only seems to affect Grok.

Steps to Reproduce

Switch model to Cursor Grok 4.5, will only show the effort and not model name.

Expected Behavior

Show the model name + effort.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hi @kellewic Thank you for the post. Your read is correct that it only affects Grok 4.5. Nothing is wrong with your install: we are exploring a new model picker design, and it is showing up on your account. With Grok 4.5 selected, the button leads with the effort level (and Fast when that toggle is on) instead of the model name, while every other model keeps its name.

Your model choice itself hasn’t changed, only the label. To confirm what you’re on, click the picker and check the bottom row. It shows your current model, and opening it gives you the full list with the search field already focused.
