# Multitask subagent not respecting model choice

### Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

### Describe the Bug

clearly selected MULTITASK MODE to be in composer 2.5 to implement and continue the plan, but then it suddenly spawned subagent in composer 2.5 - FAST! it clearly doesnt solely use what the user selected.

simply use multiedit and work on a plan

Hi! I looked up your request ID - the Multitask parent and the implement subagent both ran Composer 2.5 as selected. The Composer 2.5 Fast runs were auto-spawned Explore helpers, which use the faster Composer variant by default for parallel codebase search ([docs](https://cursor.com/docs/agent/subagents)).

If you want those Explore helpers on non-Fast Composer 2.5 as well, set Settings → Agents → Subagents → Explore to Inherit from parent so they follow the parent agent’s model.

If you’ve already set Explore to Composer 2.5 (non-Fast) and Fast still shows up, that’s a known Settings-picker bug our team is tracking - no ETA yet.
