My cursor often experienced long-term reconnection or timeout

In the past half month, my cursor often experienced long-term reconnection or timeout, and so did my colleagues in the department, which seriously affected our usage. I also tested using a mobile hotspot, and the same issue occurred. I don’t know what the problem is.

Hey there!
“Reconnecting…” just means the live connection dropped and Cursor is re-attaching - the agent keeps running on our side, so your work usually isn’t lost.

Since it’s hitting your whole team and even happens on a hotspot, this is the network path to our servers dropping long-lived connections rather than your machine. Worth trying:

  1. Switch to HTTP/1.1 - Cursor Settings > Network > HTTP Compatibility Mode > HTTP/1.1, then fully quit and relaunch (not just reload). This is the most likely fix.
  2. Run Network Diagnostics (same Network settings page) to see where it’s breaking.
  3. If you’re behind a proxy/firewall, ask IT to allowlist *.cursor.sh, *.cursorapi.com, and *.cursor-cdn.com.

Details: Network troubleshooting. If HTTP/1.1 doesn’t help, reply with the diagnostics output (there’s a “Copy diagnostics” button) and I’ll dig in.
