In the past half month, my cursor often experienced long-term reconnection or timeout, and so did my colleagues in the department, which seriously affected our usage. I also tested using a mobile hotspot, and the same issue occurred. I don’t know what the problem is.
Hey there!
“Reconnecting…” just means the live connection dropped and Cursor is re-attaching - the agent keeps running on our side, so your work usually isn’t lost.
Since it’s hitting your whole team and even happens on a hotspot, this is the network path to our servers dropping long-lived connections rather than your machine. Worth trying:
- Switch to HTTP/1.1 - Cursor Settings > Network > HTTP Compatibility Mode > HTTP/1.1, then fully quit and relaunch (not just reload). This is the most likely fix.
- Run Network Diagnostics (same Network settings page) to see where it’s breaking.
- If you’re behind a proxy/firewall, ask IT to allowlist
*.cursor.sh,*.cursorapi.com, and*.cursor-cdn.com.
Details: Network troubleshooting. If HTTP/1.1 doesn’t help, reply with the diagnostics output (there’s a “Copy diagnostics” button) and I’ll dig in.
