New version Version: 2.1.50 (Universal)

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I recently updated to the latest version and notice a couple of issues not sure if everyone is facing the same

Issue 1 : in ASK mode the message keeps repeatedly it tries updating the script - but in ask mode it can’t. It was not happening before.

Issue 2 : I noticed similar problems when I tried in agent mode . There were any supabase or mcp connection it tries connecting the same query twice.. which is also very weird screenshot. In one time the whole agent finished processing and showed the summary but in parallel it kept calling and showing me results again and again .. in the fast when i summary is shown the agent stops but in this case it kept running the MCP servers and other details..

Issue 3 : i was in plan mode and when i continously keep planning and respond to update the plan. It automatically switched to agent mode and started to code.. This is not correct

Steps to Reproduce

When you send a message in ask mode with the latest version we see this happening.

Expected Behavior

For Issue 1 : Before the update in ask mode it will try to write the code and give you an option to apply changes to the script - it wouldnt repeat all the time

For Issue 2 : I woud never see duplicate call .- only one call will be made.

Operating System

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey @adityakomatil

Do you have Request ID(s) with privacy mode disabled that you can share?

I was facing #3 myself today and reported it internally. I’ll add your thread to that internal report. I would only expect this behavior if a mode transition was set as auto-approved. That shouldn’t be the default behavior based on the settings.

For Issue 2 and 3 here is the request id 725f589e-a9e2-42d3-a596-f5b735abb25e
For Issue 1 its 1706f443-556a-4cd4-9684-c4431dfda60b

I went back to Cursor 2.0 to get a more stable environment for my work.. unfortunately i am a bit scared to update now to the latest (which i used to always do) Any suggestions on how to ensure that i dont fall into this situation ?

To be honest few week back there was an update which was super stable and the agents responded well to all my request - i think it was 2.1.40 or something cant remember

Nevertheless - i want to also appreciate all the efforts i leverage cursor more than 15-20 hours a week and has improved my speed of coding immensely. Thanks for the good work.

Hey @adityakomatil!

For issue 1, I had this happen to me again the other day and I reported it. When using Auto, Ask mode seems to really want to edit files.

Would love to know if the latest version of Cursor (v2.2.36) you’re still facing issues #2 and #3.
