Niche issue - Cursor kicks me out of other full screen apps while jobs run

So when Im running a cursor job, I often will be playing a league of legends or battlefield 6 (etc!) round while I wait. From time to time as the cursor job runs, it flips me out of the game and I either have to alt tab or click back in. The job isnt asking me for input its just doing its thing. Anyone else experiencing this or have a fix?

Thanks!

Hey @Mericanii
Sorry about the interrupted matches. This is a Windows issue we’re tracking: when the agent runs a terminal command, a console window briefly opens, and that new window is what pulls an exclusive-fullscreen game back to the desktop.

Two things that help:

  • Run the game in borderless / windowed fullscreen instead of exclusive fullscreen. The window still flashes, but the game won’t minimize.
  • For longer jobs, run them as Cloud Agents (cursor.com/agents) so nothing opens on your machine.

I’ll post here when there’s an update.

Thanks much for the reply, I appreciate it!

Hey @Mericanii can you trying setting this in your settings.json terminal.integrated.windowsUseConptyDll: true and try again.

Lmk if that works.

Thank you, yes I’ll try later this evening and let you know what happens.

OK I gave that a try and the issue was resolved! So it worked at least with that n of 1.

Thanks for trying @Mericanii

We are setting this as the default ConPTY going forward (to match the upstream behavior) so you don’t have to set it manually.
But till then keep it this way please.
