No way to select a model in "New Agent" in 3.1.14

I’m pretty sure this is a backend error, it seems its like its failing to fetch and properly cache available models. Weird that composer-2-fast causing issue though.

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Hi Cursor team,

I’m on the Pro plan ($20/mo). I was previously able to manually select Claude Opus 4.6 (and other specific Claude/GPT models), but that option is no longer available.

Current behavior:

  1. In Settings → Models, searching claude-4.6-opus returns No models available
  2. The chat model picker only shows a limited set (Auto / Premium / Composer, etc.)
  3. Billing/Usage indicates my included quota is not exhausted (e.g. around 34% used)

What I already tried:

  • Restarted Cursor
  • Refreshed the Models list
  • Confirmed I’m logged into the same Pro account

Expected behavior:

  • Restore manual selection for Claude Opus 4.6 (or the previously visible model set), or
  • Clarify why this account’s model catalog is currently restricted (feature flag / region / account policy)

Environment:

  • Cursor version: 3.1.14 (Universal)
  • OS: macOS 15.7.3 (24G419)
  • Request ID: c5233a91-8550-45ba-8906-ac2ea98a8533
  • Screenshots: attached

Steps to Reproduce

This issue is reproducible and blocks my normal workflow because I specifically need deterministic model selection instead of Auto routing.

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

I find the same problem.

Hey, roll back to 3.0.16 doesn’t help. Maybe the bug does not exist on client code.

roll back to 3.0.16,The problem still exists

My cursor editor automatically updated to version 3.1.14, and now I can’t see models like GPT/Claude in the Models section.

Describe the Bug

Original post was closed unsolved. Downgrade to 3.0.16 does not help.
I deleted all cursor config folders and restart and cannot see any model.

Steps to Reproduce

Delete ~/.cursor
Delete ~/.config/Cursor
Reinstall cursor
Login cursor
no models available

I downloaded the 2.6 version again, and now it’s restored in the models. This kind of bug is really stupid. Why hasn’t the official team fixed it for so long?

Thank you for reporting this issue, and apologies for the disruption. This issue has been escalated and we’ll provide updates here!

Its ok,maybe cursor teams need more quailty gate and use harness enigneering

Hi again!

We have deployed a change and see the error rate decreasing. Could you please try restarting Cursor (using 3.0/3.1) and letting us know if you are able to use the model picker again?

We apologize again for the disruption.

Thanks for the update! I’ve restarted Cursor and the model picker is working fine now.
