On-Demand Spending Disabled... Other Model usage

So I have been using Cursor Pro for a month now. I just mostly used the included model Composer 2.5. I have reached 100% of using the Cursor model and I assume in a day my model will reset to 0 again. Meanwhile, I was expecting Cursor to say something like it can’t continue and to wait for it to reset. However, it let me continue to use the Composer model but I noticed that it now was consuming Other models (see screenshot) at 6%. I have On-Demand Spending Disabled. So am I now going to be billed for the other model usage? If so, I don’t want that. It should have just told me to return back to using the Cursor model when it is reset when it does (like in 1 day). Or am I just not understanding the Other Models usage and if they are included on my monthly subscription plan. It’s really hard to find the information about this. Hopefully, someone in Cursor support can respond to.

Hey, thanks for the report, and no, you won’t get charged for this.

With On-Demand Spending turned off, no request can hit your card. I checked your account, everything used in this cycle is counted as included usage, and nothing went to on-demand.

What you’re seeing is how the included Pro allowances work. Your subscription doesn’t include just one included usage pool. When one pool is fully used up, Cursor can keep serving Composer and count it against another included allowance, that’s the 6% you see under Other Models. This is part of your subscription, not extra spend.

The footer text “consumes Other Models quota or on-demand spend” is short and sounds scary. On-demand would only apply if that pool also runs out and on-demand is enabled. Yours is disabled, so when included usage hits 100%, you’ll get the limit message you expected, and everything resets at the start of the next billing cycle.

There isn’t a separate setting to stop exactly at the Cursor Models limit and not switch over. I’ll pass this along as feedback. This thread discusses the same question in more detail: On-demand billing off still consuming on-demand-billed services

You can always see the current breakdown in Dashboard > Usage. If anything still looks off, feel free to reply.

Dean,
Thank you for the clear explanation.
