Hey, thanks for the report.
It looks like the duplication is related to the new Agent sidebar. Please try this:
- Settings → Agents → Default Location: set it to “Pane” instead of “Editor”
- Close the Agent panel, then try creating a new chat again
This workaround helped in a similar case: CMD+OPT+B often opens two chat sidebars
