# Option to open Claude Code tab as a another window is missing

Option to open Claude Code tab as a another window is missing.

### Steps to Reproduce

Open Claude Code extension, right click.

### Expected Behavior

There is an option to open Claude Code tab as another editor.

Hey, thanks for the report. There’s a bit of confusion with the menu. The right click tab item Open as Editor is only available for Cursor’s native agent tabs. Extension tabs like Claude Code and Codex are view containers, so that option won’t show up in that context menu.

Claude Code has its own way to open a session as a tab or a window:

- Open the Command Palette with `Ctrl+Shift+P`, type Claude Code, then pick Open in New Tab or Open in New Window.

If you want a split on the right, you can also drag the Claude Code tab by its title to the right edge of the window until you see the new editor group highlight, or run View: Move Editor into Right Group from the Command Palette.

Let me know if any of these options don’t work.
