Current Pro and Max plans should remain completely unchanged.
I wanted to suggest an optional program for students and users in price-sensitive markets.
Users who opt in could receive account credits or rebates in exchange for viewing relevant developer-focused sponsorships during AI processing/wait times.
The goal is not to replace existing subscriptions or introduce ads for everyone. The goal is to give users who are more price-sensitive a way to reduce their effective subscription cost while keeping the current premium experience unchanged for everyone else.
I’d be interested in a program like this, especially as a student.
Hey, thanks for the detailed feature request. Interesting idea. An opt-in model where the core premium experience stays the same for everyone else is a solid framing.
To be honest, programs like this are more of a pricing and business strategy question, not a regular engineering feature, so I can’t share specifics or a timeline. But I get the request and I’ve noted it.

Thanks for the response and for taking the time to consider the idea.
I completely understand that this is more of a pricing and business strategy discussion than a typical feature request. I appreciate you pointing me to the related threads.
One reason I suggested this is that, as a student in India, many developer tools can be difficult to afford at global pricing. For example, Cursor offers a 12-month student program, but it isn’t currently available in India. Situations like that can make it harder for students in some regions to access the same opportunities.
Regardless, I appreciate the clarification and look forward to any future updates.
P.S. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in AI & ML and have just completed my 4th semester. A student-focused plan, if one is ever considered, would be incredibly helpful for students like me who rely on these tools for learning, projects, and research.
