# Panel navigation not working with error: Unknown part workbench.parts.activitybar

> I have these vscode shortcuts to move between splits ( ctrl + l ) to move to right right split & ( ctrl + h ) to move to the left split, however I am unable to move to the sidebar and I can only move to splits. ( it works on vscode fine )

if the original vscode action `workbench.action.navigateLeft` is not working and can’t be fixed, maybe we can provide a new set of action to navigate to file explorer and chat panel.

the github issue has a solution:

```auto
"workbench.activityBar.orientation": "vertical",

```
