### Describe the Bug

When pasting an image to the context when the cursor is not at the end of the prompt, the prompt disappears. This forces me to always put the cursor at the end of the prompt before pasting an image.

### Steps to Reproduce

have a look at the screen recording

### Expected Behavior

Prompt should not disappear

### Screenshots / Screen Recordings

### Operating System

Windows 10/11

### Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: 1.1.3 (user setup)
VSCode Version: 1.96.2
Commit: 979ba33804ac150108481c14e0b5cb970bda3260
Date: 2025-06-15T06:55:04.603Z
Electron: 34.5.1
Chromium: 132.0.6834.210
Node.js: 20.19.0
V8: 13.2.152.41-electron.0
OS: Windows\_NT x64 10.0.22631

### Additional Information

maybe 1.1.3 introduced it (on Windows?). I did not notice it before

### Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hi, Christian I confirm that it happens to me too! I was about to open a ticket too.
Let’s hope they fix it soon.

Hey, I can’t repro this. Could you let me how often it happens or provide additional steps?

In my case it happens every time I paste an image in the chat. Christian\_Helms explained the problem very well, he also attached a video.

Hi @deanrie one more explanation I can give you: the problem occurs when you paste an image into the chat and NOT when you add it by clicking on the appropriate button to send images. Perhaps this can help you.
