Persistent Connection Errors in Chat After Prolonged Use (Cursor Pro+)

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I am experiencing recurring connection errors when using the chat feature in Cursor IDE. After interacting with a chat for some time (multiple questions or a longer session), the chat stops responding and begins to show connection errors. At that point, I am forced to abandon the current chat and open a new one to continue working.

This issue significantly impacts productivity, as it interrupts context and makes it difficult to complete even simple tasks efficiently, despite being on the Cursor Pro+ plan.

Steps to Reproduce

Open Cursor IDE.

Start a new chat.

Ask multiple questions or continue the conversation for a few minutes.

After some time, the chat begins to fail with connection-related errors.

The chat becomes unusable, requiring the creation of a new chat to proceed.

Expected Behavior
The chat should remain stable and usable regardless of conversation length or number of messages, without connection interruptions.

Actual Behavior
After a period of use, the chat frequently fails with connection errors and stops responding, forcing me to open a new chat and lose the existing context.

Frequency
Occurs consistently after prolonged chat usage.

Impact
High. This issue causes significant delays and friction when completing tasks, even simple ones, and makes sustained work sessions impractical.
