I gave my bot some money to test, only $50, but now it can’t even access the wallet it was using.
I log into that Phantom account w/ my Google account. seems like whenever the connection resets and i have to log back in, phantom generates a new default address and doesn’t pick up the one w/ the funds. this is a small sample of the chat trying to reconnect w/ the right wallet.

i finally got it to work, somehow. maybe the 5th time the plugin was uninstalled and reinstalled. The point remains that the Phantom connection is messy and frankly a headache.
Hey, thanks for the report. Glad it finally worked, even if it took 5 reinstalls, and yeah I get that the reconnect flow is really annoying.
About the new address, that’s the key bit to explain. The Phantom plugin runs on @phantom/mcp-server, and per Phantom’s docs, every new auth creates a separate dedicated agent wallet. It’s not tied to your personal Phantom wallet, and it won’t reconnect to an existing one even if you log in with the same Google account. That’s why after each connection reset and re-login you see a new default address.
Good news about the $50. From how Phantom set this up, the funds are on the agent wallet you topped up, and that address still exists under your Phantom login, the new session just doesn’t point to it. Here’s what you can try:
Ask the bot to list all of its current wallet addresses, then compare them to the one you originally funded. It should be visible earlier in the chat history.
If the funded address isn’t there, it’s best to contact Phantom Support directly since agent wallets live on their infrastructure and recovery has to happen on their side.
For next time, keep small amounts and ask the bot to confirm the current address before every transfer.
I passed your feedback along that the Phantom connection should survive resets without recreating the wallet. I can’t share an exact timeline, but if there’s an update I’ll post it here. Let me know if you can’t get the address back.
