Plan mode dissappears when adding more folders to Workspace

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

  1. opened the project
  2. added folder to workspace
  3. started typing in chat and wanted to choose 'Plan '- only ‘Ask’ & ‘Agent’ modes were present
  4. Restarted the Cursor > same workspace opened.
  5. Plan mode appeared

Steps to Reproduce

Expected Behavior

Plan mode should be always present

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a new issue, Plan mode shouldn’t disappear when adding folders to the workspace.

I see you’re on version 1.7.54 and that restarting Cursor works as a temporary workaround, but this clearly needs to be fixed. I’ll pass this to the team to investigate why adding folders affects the available chat modes.

Can you reproduce this every time you add a folder, or does it happen intermittently?
