Plan mode - I cannot copy text from the plan to the prompt

Plan mode can be “quite frustrating” ™ when you’re trying to tune it.

I’m trying to tune what a plan will be and I cannot copy/paste sections from the plan into the current plan prompt. I want to do this to highlight areas where the plan is wrong. But alas, no copy/paste to the current plan chat. This means I have to type it. aka: shoot me in the face!

i’ve done this on both windows and mac. I don’t have a repeatable story. unfortunately. but it has happened many times. It makes plan mode 20% of what it can be. If I can paste + tune/correct it, great. Otherwise Im sitting there RE-TYPING a broken thing in the plan. Grr!

Please make this work. Pretty please. I’ll even give you cake!

Agreed, this is quite annoying! As far as I can tell, I can’t copy any text from a plan to elsewhere.

I found I can switch to markdown mode, to at least copy from that. Bit painful tho as I don’t find markdown nice to read. It would be nicer if I could copy direct from the preview. Also, it seems ‘find’ doesn’t work for me in plan mode either (preview, nor markdown).

Out of curiosity, is anyone able to open the right-click menu?
I mentioned this in my other Plan Mode bug report.

The same problem

Remember, if u manually add something to plan u can’t save it. If you edit plan and click “Build” Cursor will use their plan without your changes. This is also annoying.

You can’t edit To-dos also.

Extremely uncomfortable When will it be supported?

Agreed. Similarly, the to-do list at the bottom is not available in markdown mode, you cannot edit them at all (especially frustrating given how to-dos are kinda broken at the moment across the board).

This and a bunch of other rough edges are keeping me from using Plan mode.
I also can’t search and there are unsaved raw-adlfjaldfjalf.md files EVERYWHERE.
I kind of hate Plan mode to be honest. It’s so frustrating to try edit the plan.

Yeh, plan editing needs work. But I do love plan mode itself. It’s helping me produce better results almost all of the time. I use it a log, but it’s kinda inefficient having to use the LLM to re-produce a plan where I could just edit it myself.

But I think plan mode, overall, is definitely a good thing.
