Plan mode now seems to save every character while planning

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

when creating a plan, it seems to save every character, so when it types out the plan, it goes really slowly. And you can see it doing “save” or “unsaved” in the sidebar.

Steps to Reproduce

Create a plan and watch how slowly it creates.

Expected Behavior

Make it work like it did before.

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a rendering performance issue, and it’s a known issue the team is working on.

Can you help with some diagnostics:

  • Record a short video (10 to 15 sec) of the plan creation flow, where we can see the “save/unsaved” flicker in the sidebar
  • About how long does plan creation take now vs before?
  • Does this happen with any plan, or only with specific requests?

I’ll pass this info to the team for further investigation.

will do.

here is the video you requested showing the issue:

now posted to the thread as requested. does that help?

I’m having the exact same issue. I thought it was the Prettier extension trying to format on each write. But disabling it didn’t help much. IT does try to save the file on each character.

it happens on every plan I generate including when it tweaks the plan.

Thanks for the video! I’ve passed it on to the team for further investigation.
