Plan mode on My Machines worker: empty plan + “Unable to reconnect workspace”

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Plan mode on a self-hosted My Machines worker creates a plan title, then leaves the plan body empty (placeholder “Plan body…”, 0 to-dos). After the agent says “Created plan”, Cursor shows “Unable to reconnect workspace” / Disconnected.

The worker itself stays up. This looks like Cursor losing the plan window after the run, not the machine dying.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Connect Cursor desktop to a self-hosted My Machines worker (agent worker start).
  2. Open Plan mode on that worker (model: Cursor Grok 4.6 High Fast).
  3. Ask it to write a plan (reproduced on “Strip migration wrappers” and a Mailchimp plan).
  4. Wait until the chat says “Created plan”.

Result: plan editor has a title only; body stays empty; then Unable to reconnect workspace / Disconnected. Reload / Reconnect does not fill the empty plan.

Mailchimp run lasted about 9 minutes 13 seconds before the disconnect.

Expected Behavior

After “Created plan” the plan editor should stay attached to the worker and show the full plan body plus to-dos. The workspace should not disconnect.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Version Information

Cursor desktop on Windows 11. Exact About string not copied. Happens on current desktop against self-hosted My Machines workers.

Hi @DanielS!

If our records are correct, your desktop is on Cursor 3.9.16, which is about ten releases behind. Please update to the current version (updating the CLI with agent upgrade is also a good idea) and let us know if you’re still encountering an issue!
