I think they should come back. If it’s just about model performance, then just let us know or put them under the ‘More Models’ tab like with Background Agents. If it’s about money, then at least make them available in the Pro plan. These models have their uses, and several competitors use thinking models for this kind of inline editing.
Can you explain further why inline edit was better and offer some links to research? thanks
It’s more a matter of choice, you can say that it’s not recommended and put these models in “more models” like in background agents, but it can be useful to use the thinking models in inline edit, so useful that several competitors like github copilot have thinking models in inline edit. I don’t think they should simply be removed as they were.
About sources I have this: Cannot use all models in Ctrl+K Inline Edits and github copilot.
With 0.50.7(which is my new 0.45.17) ctrl-k shows my checked models from settings, are you saying in 1.* it got removed?
Yeah, got removed in 1.0
copy pasting lines to context gives the model file lines to modify but ctrl-k workflow should not be removed, let me ping @deanrie to understand this change
It could even be a configuration.
Yes thinking models were removed from CTRL/CMD K. Regular models still work in CTRL/CMD K.
Can you bring them back? I’ve seen a lot of feedback like that too.
The Cursor Team is aware of this and similar requests. We may have to wait for their announcements or future changes.
Ok, thank you!
